Computing Center

for Research and Technology

The Research and Technology Computing Center (CCRT - Centre de calcul pour la recherche et la technologie) has been set up to provide High Performance Computing resources for large scientific computations and to foster a real synergy between research organizations, universities and industry by promoting exchanges and scientific collaboration between partners.

CCRT partners can benefit from a rich environment including HPC expertise and continuous technology watch performed by CEA teams.

CCRT industrial partners to date are Airbus Defence & Space (aerospace industrial), Areva (global nuclear industry leader), CERFACS (research center in modeling and numerical simulation), EDF (French electricity provider), Ineris (industrial risk assessment), L'Oréal (leader in cosmetics), SAFRAN (aeronautics company), Thales(Aerospace, Space and Defence, Security, and Transportation), Valeo (automotive technology).

CCRT boosts industrial innovation with a

petascale supercomputer from Bull

4 february 2016

Following a tender bid, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, CEA, and its industrial partners at the Centre for Computing Research and Technology, CCRT, have invested in a new petaflop1 supercomputer of ~1.4 Pflops, designed by Bull, the Atos brand for technology products and software. Three times more powerful than the current computer at CCRT, it will be installed in the CEA’s Very Large Computing Centre in Bruyères-le-Châtel, France, mid-2016 to cover expanding industrial needs.

Press Release

In order to maintain dynamic exchanges between its partners, the CCRT organises annual conference, dedicated to users describing their scientific results, and technological workshops on innovating thematics (GPU or cell accelerators, Green IT, new programming algorithms, etc.).
