A new major computing centre : Très grand centre de calcul (TGCC).

On the 25th of october, 2010, the Minister of Higher Education and Research Valérie Pécresse inaugurated the building of TGCC, Très grand centre de calcul (Very Large Computing Centre) of the CEA. Installed in Essonne on the site of Bruyères-le Châtel, France, this outstanding 6500m2 infrastructure is dedicated to hosting major supercomputers.

Tera 100, Europe's most powerful supercomputer is powered up for the first time

May 27, 2010 : The Military Applications Department of the French Atomic Energy Authority (the CEA) and Bull are today announcing that the CEA's new Tera 100 supercomputer has been powered up for the first time. With a theoretical computing power of 1.25 Petaflops, Tera 100 ranks among the three most powerful supercomputers in the world. Tera 100 is vast program involving close co-operation between Bull and the CEA.

Allinea Announces DDT for the CUDA Architecture
Allinea Software today announced that that it was making a pre-release version of the Distributed Debugging Tool (DDT) for the CUDA architecture available to early-adopter customers. This coincides with the release of NVIDIA's CUDA Toolkit version 3.0.
