During the 16th European Workshop on HPC Infrastructures, held on October 20 and 21, 2026, in Luxembourg, the infrastructure team from the CEA DAM Île-de-France computing centres presented their feedback on hosting quantum computing machines within the TGCC. This international event, co-organized by CEA, brought together more than 90 participants from Europe, Asia, and the United States. This gathering is a key highlight for computing centres, providing an opportunity to share advancements made in HPC/AI/QC computing facilities. In 2027, for its 17th edition, the TGCC will host this event. The 21st TERATEC Forum took place on October 20–21, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. With nearly 50 exhibitors, 2,000 participants, an extensive program of plenary presentations and thematic workshops—as well as quantum "masterclasses" featuring French startups and a highly dynamic "job dating" session—this edition reinforces TERATEC’s pivotal role in driving the French and European HPC, AI, and quantum ecosystem. The CEA, a Gold sponsor and member of the Program Committee, took part in various sessions and activities (covering quantum, AI, data centers, etc.), and its booth attracted a large number of visitors, including students, industry peers, and many other professionals.

The EuroHPC JU User Days were held in Dublin from September 22 to 24. The event provided a great opportunity to gain insight into the scientific results made possible by the HPC/AI infrastructures established by the “EuroHPC JU” Joint Undertaking. We also discussed user needs (federation services, data services, etc.) and, together with our colleagues from Jülich, we gave a presentation on EuroHPC’s two exascale-class HPC systems: Jupiter (at Jülich JSC) and Alice Recoque, which is scheduled to arrive at the TGCC in late 2027.

CEA DAM Île-de-France participated in the inaugural Digital Sovereignty Expo. Held under the patronage of Ms. Anne Le Hénanff, Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology, the event drew over 2,000 participants, including government representatives, industry leaders, and start-ups. Through the CEA booth and various round-table discussions, research engineers from CEA DAM Île-de-France presented DAM’s digital sovereignty strategy. The agenda covered digital infrastructure, supercomputer co-design, system administration, secure software, scientific applications, HPC, AI, quantum computing, and training.

Our partners—Bull (Bruno Lecointe, Group SVP HPC AI & Quantum Computing), SAFRAN (Nicolas Belanger, Head of Center of Excellence HPC), and THALES DMS (Gilles Salin, Engineer)—attended to attest to the strategy's success; the latter two highlighted the performance of the CCRT and CCMD facilities for their respective applications. Indeed, the CEA’s computing complexes at the Bruyères-le-Châtel center house world-class supercomputers operated by DAM teams.

CEA/DAM teams took part in the ISC 2026 – International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany, where they showcased DAM’s expertise and activities in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Quantum Computing. The event provided an opportunity to engage with the entire scientific and industrial community in the sector and to present upcoming projects, including the deployment of the Alice Recoque exascale system at the TGCC and the Kity quantum computer developed by Alice & Bob.
