EuroHPC JU and the Jules Verne Consortium (GENCI, CEA, SURF, GRNET) are proud to announce today that the Eviden, a leader in Advanced Computing and AI, and AMD, a leader in high-performance computing and SiPearl, the EU company designing the high-performance CPUs have been chosen to provide Alice Recoque the new European Exascale System.
Named Alice Recoque, a pioneering French computer scientist and one of the first women engineers in artificial intelligence, this supercomputer will be hosted in France, at the CEA’s TGCC in Bruyères-le-Châtel near Paris. The computing center has achieved all the preparatory works to adapt its infrastructure to receive Alice Recoque.

The TGCC has just welcomed Lucy on-premises! Lucy is the name of the photonic quantum computer from Quandela. This system, supplied by the Franco-German consortium Quandela – attocube systems AG, was acquired by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking as part of the EuroQCS-France consortium. The French share of this acquisition is financed, via GENCI, by the French General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) through the France 2030 programme, as part of the National Quantum Strategy. With a capacity of 12 qubits, Lucy offers researchers and industrial users a unique platform for experimenting with quantum algorithms, exploring hybrid HPC-quantum workflows, and developing initial applications in fields such as optimization, chemistry, and machine learning.
